DAILY DOSES OF NATURE

Developing an awareness and an appreciation of nature is an important part of the curriculum at Maple Tree Montessori Preschool & Kindergarten. Your child will regularly connect with the natural world as we go on bug safaris in our large green space. Students learn about trees during nature walks in the woods, and discover the details in the dirt while digging in our organic gardens. Your child will explore plant life cycles as we sow seeds, water plants, and harvest vegetables. The children then use the vegetables they grow in cooking and baking activities. Children collect organic eggs from our laying hens daily and gain hands on experience of the life cycle of our chickens. Children learn to identify wild flowers, local birds and animal tracks as they discover the parts that make up an ecosystem.
